The FHNW is one of Switzerland's leading universities of applied sciences. Its ten schools are active in teaching, research, continuing education and services \u2013 innovatively and with a practical orientation. Its wide range of courses, practical focus, application-oriented and innovative research and global network make the FHNW an attractive and diverse educational institution, a sought-after partner for industry and an appealing employer in north-west Switzerland.<\/span><\/p>\n

The FHNW comprises ten universities in the fields of applied psychology, architecture, construction and geomatics, design and art, computer science, life sciences, music, teacher training, social work, technology and the environment, and economics. The FHNW campuses are located in the four cantons of Aargau, Basel-Landschaft, Basel-Stadt and Solothurn.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over 13,000 students are enrolled at the FHNW. Around 1,200 lecturers impart practical and market-oriented knowledge in 34 Bachelor's and 20 Master's degree programmes as well as in numerous continuing education courses. FHNW graduates are sought-after specialists.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to education, application-oriented research and development is a high priority at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland FHNW. It operates exclusively in the Swiss market and focuses on solutions for private and occupational pension provision. Pax distributes its products through independent partners, which it supports through advisory centres and regional sales offices. The company employs around 300 people. Pax is organised as a cooperative under the umbrella of Pax Holding and can determine its own development independently. The interests of the customers and members of the cooperative, who participate in the economic success of Pax, are at the centre of its activities. BaselCircular strengthens the circular economy in the Basel region. This public-private partnership between the Canton of Basel-Stadt and the Eckenstein-Geigy Foundation supports start-ups and businesses in their transition from linear to circular business models, connects relevant stakeholders, provides knowledge and resources, and promotes innovation in the field of the circular economy.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the support of BaselCircular, the Swiss Sustainability Challenge can expand its offering in the field of the circular economy in a targeted manner.
