The FHNW comprises nine universities with the departments of Applied Psychology, Architecture, Construction and Geomatics, Design and Art, Life Sciences, Music, Teacher Education, Social Work, Technology and Economics. The campuses of the FHNW are located at sites in the four sponsoring cantons of Aargau, Basel-Landschaft, Basel-Stadt and Solothurn.
Over 13,000 students are enrolled at the FHNW. Around 1,200 lecturers impart practical and market-oriented knowledge in 29 Bachelor's and 18 Master's degree programs as well as in numerous continuing education courses. The graduates of the FHNW are sought-after professionals.
In addition to education, application-oriented research and development is a high priority at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland FHNW. Together with national and international partners from industry, business, culture, administration and institutions, the FHNW implements research projects and participates in European research programs.

Sie ist ausschliesslich im Schweizer Markt tätig und konzentriert sich auf Lösungen für die Private und Berufliche Vorsorge. Ihre Produkte vertreibt Pax über unabhängige Partner, die sie durch Beratungszentren und regionale Verkaufsstützpunkte betreut.Das Unternehmen beschäftigt rund 300 Mitarbeitende. Unter dem Dach der Pax Holding ist Pax genossenschaftlich organisiert und kann ihre Entwicklung eigenständig bestimmen.
